What is it about: QUOTTOM is the brainchild of a crew around editor-in-chief Nicolas Walker and managing director Ruben Feurer – whose average age is 20. The biannual magazine features portraits, art essays, music features, interviews, photo spreads and fashion shoots by and about up-and-coming hot shots from Zurich’s creative scene, as well as established names, such as golden oldie Walter Pfeiffer. The first issue revolves around fear and longing.
Why is it essential reading: true, the mix of art and music editorials plus the odd fashion spread thrown in isn’t exactly a concept that is new under the sun. BUT QUOTTOM is fresh, bold, real, very determined, and overall damn good looking. It passes both the arty-farty and Zurich hipster scene bullshit detector. QUOTTOM is the biannual bible for the kids on the cutting-edge in Zurich and beyond. Which again makes the new mag kid in town essential reading for all interested in what goes on in the minds of twentysomethings pushing that cutting-edge.
QUOTTOM is available via their website and selected shops, such as Waldraud in Zurich.
